WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• 1½ yards two-way or 4-way stretch fabric
• Small piece of ⅛” or ¼” elastic for ruching
• Three stretch binding straps (1½ yards each) — one will be cut into the top binding
• One stretch binding strap (1 yard) for slider strings
• Matching thread
• Binding attachment (optional)
• Serger or home sewing machine
ASSEMBLY
1️⃣ Sew Top Sides
Sew the top side seams with a ¼” serger stitch. Fold later to create slider-string channels.
2️⃣ Add Ruching (Optional)
Apply ⅛”–¼” elastic to the center front to create gathers.
3️⃣ Make & Attach Top Binding
Cut the top binding using the measurement chart and stay-stitch. Attach to the top edge, leaving ½” overhang.
4️⃣ Hem Back Thong Tip
Turn under ½” and stitch.
5️⃣ Attach Side Bindings
Prepare and stay-stitch long binding straps. Apply binding down both sides and continue into the thong straps.
6️⃣ Check Strap Lengths
Ensure both thong straps match the measurement chart. Trim if needed.
7️⃣ Create Slider Channels
Fold under ½” on both sides of the top and stitch to form channels.
8️⃣ Make Slider Strings
Cut one 1-yard string. Cut the leftover binding strap (used for top binding) to match. Fold to create two slider strings.
9️⃣ Thread Strings
Thread both slider strings through the channels with a string-turner. Knot ends to finish.
