What You Will Need
- 1/2 yard 58–60″ 2- or 4-way stretch fabric
- 1⅔ yd Bias String
- Matching Thread
- Regular Home Sewing Machine
- Overlock Machine if you have one
Pattern Assembly
- Side Seams – With right sides of fabric facing each other, sew the front and back (1) pieces together at the side seams using a ¼” serger stitch.
- Neckline Binding (Front & Back) – Staystitch the neckline binding (2) pieces with a slight pull (or use a binding foot).
- Leave a ½” overhang on each side.
- Binding measurements available on the sewing pattern
- Finish Neckline Binding – Fold the binding to the inside on both front and back.
- Sew in place with a cover stitch, zigzag stitch, or any stretch stitch.
- Trim away the ½” overhang.
- Spaghetti Straps (3) – Fold each strap binding in half, right sides together.
- Sew the short ends together with a straight stitch, securing ends ½” from the edge.
- Strap measurements available on the sewing pattern
- Attach underarm binding for Spaghetti Strap – Pin the Spaghetti Straps (3) along the sides of the dress (1).
- Staystitch the underarm binding pieces with a slight pull to maintain stretch.
- Measurements for staystitching the underarm binding available in the sewing pattern
- Finish the straps (3) – Fold the free length of binding along the shoulder and underarm line to form the spaghetti straps.
- Use a binding foot if available for a neat finish.
- Hem – Finish the bottom edge of the dress with a ½” hem using a cover stitch, zigzag stitch, or another stretch stitch.
