Pattern Assembly
- With right sides of fabric together sew front (1) and back (2) sides together with a ¼” serger stitch. Leave the crotch open for now.
- Attach ¼” elastic around all the raw edges of (1) and (2) including the keyhole opening. Leaving the small ends of crotch unsewn. Overlock stitch or zigzag stitch recommended (Use of an elastic foot if you have one)
- Sew front (1) and back (2) crotch together using a straight stitch and ¼” seam allowance. Reinforce by sewing back and forward where the two elastics overlap each other
- Fold under the elastic and fabric tightly to the edge. Secure the hem down using a coverstitch, zigzag stitch or any stretch stitch. Make sure to open the elastic seams at the crotch before hemming down (this makes it less bulky)
- Fold neck strap (3) long ways. Sew the long raw edge into a tube with wrong sides facing out using a Overlock stitch or any stretch stitch.
- Using a string turner or safety pin turn the tube right side out
- Find the center of neck strap (3) and attach the inside keyhole of (1) to the center of (3) using a straight pin. Pin the outside keyhole of (1) to neck strap (3) Secure (1) and (3) neck trap together using a straight stitch
- Add your 3/4” S-Hook on the right side of the neck strap (3). Tuck fabric into the closed end of the S-Hook. Fold over S-Hook and secure with a straight stitch.
- Fold over the left side of the neck strap (3) with a 1/2″ fold to create a loop for the hook of the S-Hook. Secure the loop with a straight stitch
