Super Low-Rise Bloomers PDF Sewing Pattern – Ruffled Micro Shorts with Optional Booty Ruching

$17.99 $9.00

Sew daring, super low-rise bloomers with playful ruffles and optional booty ruching using this PDF sewing pattern designed for minimal coverage and bold style.

These Super Low-Rise Bloomers are designed to sit extra low on the hips, making them the perfect match for super low-rise bikini tops, micro bras, and skimpy festival looks. The gathered back creates visual interest while flattering smaller booties, and the optional elastic ruching lets you customize the look.

This style is intentionally minimal and best suited for those who enjoy daring cuts. It may not provide enough coverage for fuller figures, making it ideal for confident makers who love statement pieces.

2-way or 4-way stretch fabric (approx. ¾ yard)
¼” cotton braided swimwear elastic (recommended)
Matching thread
Home sewing machine with zigzag or straight stitch
Elastic attachment recommended for best results

🪡 Pattern Assembly

  1. Optional Booty Ruching
If adding ruching, apply elastic to the back piece using elastic pull-gathering. Leave about ½” at the top edge for hemming. Secure elastic ends with a backstitch.

  2. Sew Main Seams
With right sides together, sew the crotch and side seams of pieces (1) and (2) using a stretch stitch or straight stitch.

  3. Hem Edges
Hem the top edge and leg openings with a ½” hem using a cover stitch, zigzag stitch, or straight stitch.

  4. Upper Elastic
Pin elastic to the inside of the upper hem, matching elastic ends at a side seam. Elastic lengths are provided in the pattern.
Note: Elastic stretch varies—adjust as needed for your fabric.

  5. Secure Upper Elastic
Sew elastic in place using a straight stitch, securing firmly where the ends meet.

  6. Leg Hole Elastic
Pin elastic to the inside of each leg opening, matching ends at the crotch seam. Adjust fit as needed.

  7. Secure Leg Elastic
Sew elastic in place with a straight stitch, reinforcing at seam joins.
