Beginner sewing instructions & Tutorial
🧵 What You Will Need
¼ yard nylon spandex (2 & 4-way stretch), 58–60″ wide
¼” wide braided elastic
Matching thread
Serger or sewing machine with zigzag/stretch stitch
Elastic foot recommended for easier application
✂️ Assembly
With right sides together, sew the two front pieces along the center seam. Attach the front to the back at the crotch seam and reinforce the high-stress seam intersection. Sew elastic along the curved edges, then fold the fabric and elastic under together, keeping the fabric smooth as you secure the hem with a coverstitch or zigzag stitch. Fold and sew the stretch-string straps, attach them to the front and back corners, then tuck the ends inside and stitch securely. Trim excess threads and elastic to finish.
