- Pin both small side binding pieces (2) t0 thong and lining (1) at center of thong (this can be viewed on the video links below)
- Stay stitch down both sides of binding (2) to thong (1)
- Fold in binding and sew both sides all the way through to finish the sides. Use a cover stitch, zigzag stitch, or any stretch stitch (use a binding foot if you have one)
- Snip off the unfinished ends of the binding on both top and bottom of thong (cut 4 binding ends)
- Fold both front and back strings (3) in half the long way.
- Pin center fold of both strings (3) to center front and back of the bikini bottom (1)
- Measure (3) from center front pin to both sides of front (1) and pin sides. Use these measurements per size for (3) 1 3/8” BY XS 4.5”, S 5”, M 5.5”, L6” (use a binding foot if you have one)
- From center back measure to both sides of back (1) and pin. Use these measurements per size for (2) 1 3/8” BY XS 3”, S 3.5”, M 4”, L 4.5” (use a binding foot if you have one)
- Wrap binding (3) around front and back of (1) fabric edge. Finish the stitch using a cover stitch, zigzag stitch or any other stretch stitch.
- Tie a knot at the end of the strings to finish
You can double layer the fabric for the front and back pieces if you intend to wear this for swimwear.
