The Husky Men’s Racerback Bodysuit Sewing Pattern is designed to contour the torso and crotch while leaving the legs exposed, offering a sleek, performance-focused fit in extended sizes. This style features a thong back and athletic racerback silhouette, created for movement, comfort, and confidence.
Drafted specifically for Husky body types, this pattern provides additional room where needed while maintaining a clean, body-hugging shape. The design works best with stretch fabrics and allows for small fit adjustments at the crotch dart for personal comfort.
This men’s bodysuit sewing pattern is well-suited for performance wear, dance costuming, fitness, or expressive stage looks where flexibility and fit matter.

🧵 What You Will Need

Optional lining with similar stretch
¼” braided elastic
Matching thread
Overlock (serger) machine or home sewing machine with zigzag or stretch stitch
Elastic foot recommended
🪡 Assembly
-
Crotch Dart
Serger stitch the dart on front piece (1). Secure the serger chain by tying a knot, stitching it down, or applying fray check. The dart can be adjusted slightly for personal fit. -
Side Seams
With right sides together, sew the side seams of front (1) and back (2) using a serger or straight stitch on a home machine. Leave the shoulder straps and crotch ends open. -
Apply Elastic
Attach ¼” elastic to all raw edges of pieces (1) and (2), excluding the small ends of the crotch and shoulder straps. Use a serger or zigzag stitch. An elastic foot is recommended for even tension. -
Crotch Seam
Sew the front and back crotch ends together using a straight stitch with a ¼” seam allowance. Reinforce where elastic overlaps by sewing forward and backward. -
Shoulder Straps
Sew front and back shoulder straps together using a straight stitch with a ¼” seam allowance. Reinforce elastic overlap points. -
Finish Edges
Fold elastic and fabric neatly to the inside and secure using a coverstitch, zigzag stitch, or stretch stitch. Open elastic seams at shoulders and crotch before hemming to reduce bulk.
