What You Will Need
• ½ yard of 2-way or 4-way stretch fabric (58″–60″ wide)
• Matching thread
• Home sewing machine (serger or zigzag stitch works great for stretch)
Pattern Assembly
1️⃣ Sew Skirt Body
Serge the two skirt pieces right sides together to form the skirt loop.
2️⃣ Sew Ruffle Loop
Join the ruffle pieces right sides together and serge the side seams.
3️⃣ Prep Waistband
Fold the waistband in half lengthwise (wrong sides together) to create a double-layer band.
4️⃣ Attach Waistband
Pin the folded waistband to the inside top edge of the skirt, matching seams.
Serge around the top. Optional: topstitch the seam flat.
5️⃣ Attach Ruffle
Pin the ruffle loop to the right side of the skirt, matching seams.
Serge in one continuous round.
6️⃣ Optional Finish
Topstitch the seam allowance for a clean finish.
7️⃣ Hem Ruffle
Fold the ruffle edge up ½” and sew with a zigzag or cover stitch.
