What You Will Need
β’ Β½ yard of 2-way or 4-way stretch fabric (58″β60″ wide)
β’ Matching thread
β’ Home sewing machine (serger or zigzag stitch works great for stretch)
Pattern AssemblyΒ
1οΈβ£ Sew Skirt Body
Serge the two skirt pieces right sides together to form the skirt loop.
2οΈβ£ Sew Ruffle Loop
Join the ruffle pieces right sides together and serge the side seams.
3οΈβ£ Prep Waistband
Fold the waistband in half lengthwise (wrong sides together) to create a double-layer band.
4οΈβ£ Attach Waistband
Pin the folded waistband to the inside top edge of the skirt, matching seams.
Serge around the top. Optional: topstitch the seam flat.
5οΈβ£ Attach Ruffle
Pin the ruffle loop to the right side of the skirt, matching seams.
Serge in one continuous round.
6οΈβ£ Optional Finish
Topstitch the seam allowance for a clean finish.
7οΈβ£ Hem Ruffle
Fold the ruffle edge up Β½” and sew with a zigzag or cover stitch.
