What You Will Need
- 1/2 yard of 2 or 4 way stretch fabric 58”- 60” wide
- 1/8″ or 1/4″ braided elastic for ruching
- Matching Thread
- Overlock machine / zig-zag stitch on a regular sewing machine
Pattern Assembly
- Gather the back booty with elastic pull ruching leaving 1/2″ at the top for the hem. Secure the end with a back stitch (this can be viewed on the video links below)
- Fold front shorts to back shorts with right sides
together. Sew shorts sides together using a 1/4” overlock stitch - Hem both leg holes with 1/2” fold/hem using a cover stitch, zigzag or any stretch stitch
- Hem all the way around the hip/waist area with 1/2” fold/hem using a stretch stitch. Tuck in the top of
the 1/8” booty elastic under the hem.
