What You Will Need
- 1/3 yard of 2 or 4 way stretch fabric
- Matching Thread
- Overlock machine / zig-zag stitch on a regular sewing machine
- Straight stitch machine
Pattern Assembly
- Lay both armbands (labeled as 1) flat with the right side of the fabric facing up, and make sure the wrist edges (the smaller ends) are pointing towards each other.
- Take fringe pieces (2) and, using the uncut edge, pin them to each armband (1) along one side. Be sure to leave at least one inch of space on both the wrist and upper arm end of (1) for hemming. For the fringe, you’ll be working with two pieces measuring an 8×16 inch each.
- Fold each armband (1) into a tube shape, ensuring the fringe (2) is tucked inside.
- Stitch the three layers together, keeping the fringe in the middle. If you’re using a 2-way stretch fabric, a straight stitch will work; otherwise, use a serger for added stretch.
- Hem the top and bottom openings with a ½” allowance using a cover stitch, zigzag, or any stretch stitch of your choice to finish the edges neatly.
