🧵 What You Will Need
1¼ yards 58″–60″ wide stretch fabric (2-way or 4-way stretch)
¼” braided swimwear elastic
Matching thread
Overlock/serger or home sewing machine with zigzag/stretch stitch
Scissors or rotary cutter
🧵 Assembly
Attach ¼” elastic to the right and left sides of both crop top pieces, then hem the elastic-edged crop top pieces. Sew a gathering stitch at the center underbust area as marked on the pattern and gather until the marked section measures approximately half of its original width. Open the fold of the underbust piece and pin the crop top pieces to the underbust, positioning each piece ¼” from the center point. Smooth and check that both bust sections are even before stay stitching the crop top pieces to the underbust. Hem the upper edge of the assembled crop top and underbust piece, reducing the seam allowance near the center cleavage point and continuing across in one continuous stretch stitch. Hem the lower edge and finish the tie ends with knots or a clean folded finish.
