Sewing Pattern Printing FAQ

You can print your sewing pattern at home using a standard printer.

  • Open the downloaded PDF in your browser or a PDF reader.

  • Print at 100% scale (no scaling or “fit to page”).

  • Check the 2″ × 2″ test square (or 5.08 cm metric square) to confirm your printer settings.

  • Line up the heart shaped page markings to assemble the pattern pieces.

  • Tape pages together before cutting.

An assembly diagram is included in the corner of each page for reference.

Some customers have successfully printed patterns on A4 paper.

Check the test square on the pattern (2″ × 2″ or 5.08 cm).
If the test square measures correctly, your print settings are correct.

No. At this time, patterns are provided for home printing only.

Yes. Seam allowances are already included on all pattern pieces.

  • ¼” serger stitch seam allowance

  • ½” hem allowance

For stretchy fabrics, small variations (such as ⅛”) will not significantly affect fit.

Most Sew Skimpy digital sewing patterns are available in four sizes:

  • Yellow = XS

  • Black = S

  • Red = M

  • Green = L

Sizes generally range from 0–13 (Junior sizing).

Note: These patterns are drafted for stretch fabrics. Fit may vary depending on fabric type and amount of stretch. Always use the size chart and fit notes included with each pattern.
